t has been noted (usually by tourists traveling through the town) that Mariposa is an anachronism.  It seems to exist in a blending of the world of 1950's Ozzie and Harriet (with the associated traditional American values and mores) and the wild west.  In fact, great pains are taken to retain both flavors. 

s a means of greater insight into the town and its inhabitants this site will begin chronicling life in Mariposa.  And so, we present to you here the first installments of The Mariposa Chronicles.
